There was a fantastic tournament on Sunday 18th when 12 of the new members played their tournament to select the two players going through to the final on Finals Weekend on Sunday September 16th . There were some great battles and, I must say, some fantastic bowling. For people who never played bowls or had very limited knowledge, they were brilliant. The more established players were a bit worried about keeping their places on teams for next year. Well done to everyone concerned, especially to Frank McLoughlin & Mary DeChaumont who organised the tournament and also to the Social Committee who organised a lovely tea with delicious cakes and sandwiches.
